Modern furniture can appear almost avant-garde at times and provide a very fresh display to a newly built house. This look can be perceived as bare and cold, rather than warm and cosy.
Furniture is a thing of beauty and art, as well as being a comforting necessity to our daily lives. Very few people in the Western culture are accustomed to the simple life, of sitting on the floor or using their hands as a table to hold their dinner plate. One would think that chairs and tables have made us become less limber losing the ability to use our sitting bones as they have been designed for through evolution.
