If this should happen, you would have a better chance of covering the costs of replacing your things if the homeowner didn’t have insurance on the home. You might just be out of a home, and not everything that you own.
If you live in an apartment building, you will really need to carry renter’s insurance. You will want to go over all the things that you have and set a price that it will cost to replace them at the current value of the items and not what you paid for them. If there’s a fire in this building and it affects you, you know that you will be able to recover from this fire and get along with your life.
